Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III will be treated to a special Thanksgiving dinner in prison on Thursday, according to TMZ Sports. The Nevada Department of Corrections revealed he and the other inmates will eat turkey and sides.

Ruggs, 24, is spending his first holiday behind bars since pleading guilty to driving drunk at 156 mph and killing 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog.

TMZ Sports reported that the Thanksgiving dinner will include "roast turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and more in celebration of the November holiday."

The fatal crash happened in November 2021 and prosecutors said his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit. He will spend a couple more Thanksgivings behind bars.

Henry Ruggs takes full responsibility

"I have no excuses," Ruggs said, citing pain the case has caused his family, teammates and Tintor's family.

Ruggs said that after prison, he intends to counsel others "about the dangers of driving at unsafe speed and driving and drinking."

The former first-round NFL draft pick pleaded guilty in May to felony DUI causing death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. He was sentenced to at least three years in prison.
