A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the short clip, the player leaps up and gets in the face of the perpetrator in the stands. "You wanna talk homie?" asked Aimaq, towering over the student who had insulted him and told him to leave the country.

Users expressed support to the player of Afghan origin in the comments of the video of the incident which surfaced on X (formerly Twitter). "Maybe controversial...but this needs to happen MORE often! People need to realize you can't just say shit without consequences," wrote one user. "Players should *never* go into the stands. *Ever.* But considering what was said, the climate we live in and what Fardaws experienced at his last stop, I have a hard time criticizing him here. The fan deserved to have his ass kicked," wrote another.

The college has announced that it will handle the incident internally.
