Teyana Taylor filed for divorce from Iman Shumpert in January, eight months before publicly announcing their separation.

Taylor accuses Shumpert of being a jealous narcissist during their seven-year marriage. In legal documents obtained by TMZ, she claims that Shumpert was insecure about her fame and would grow annoyed at public events when photographers asked him to step out of the frame.

Despite Shumpert's successful NBA career, Taylor alleges he remained jealous of her acting career and insecure about being in the spotlight.

She states that she initially wanted to keep the divorce private, using initials in the filing, but Shumpert's recent filing included full names, bringing the situation into the public eye.

According to Taylor, Shumpert sent her negative text messages after the public spotlight intensified, displaying condescending and manipulative language.

She claims that he was "treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage."

Taylor alleges emotional and mental abuse, stating that she tried to dim her light for the sake of their marriage but eventually found herself being manipulated and controlled.

Then she also claims Shumpert was involved in multiple cheating scandals, citing a DUI arrest, a weed possession arrest, and a hit-and-run incident.

Seeks permanent custody of kids

Despite reconciliations, she decided to file for divorce in January due to Shumpert's inconsistent behavior and involvement in another cheating scandal.

Taylor announced their separation in September, clarifying that "infidelity" wasn't a reason for their departure. She now seeks temporary and permanent primary physical custody of their two children, joint legal custody, and child support, stating that Shumpert left the family home in October and hasn't spent significant time with their kids since then.
