Happy Thanksgiving to all! One of America's longest standing traditions, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, will take place Thursday November 23rd, from 8:30am ET to 12:00pm ET (NBC and Telemundo). 2023's three-hour celebration will be the 97th edition of the vibrant turkey-themed march through New York City, having first taken place in 1924.

The parade will end outside the flasghip Macy's department store at the famous and festive Herald Square of Manhattan. 2023's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature: 25 balloons, 6 balloonicles, 31 floats, 11 marching bands, 18 performers, 29 clown crews and 7 performance groups.

Sheryl Lee Ralph channels Mrs. Claus

In the concluding moments of the parade, Sheryl Lee Ralph, star of "Abbott Elementary," took the spotlight, joining Santa Claus as Mrs. Claus to ceremoniously usher in the holiday season.

For anyone currently in New York City, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is free to watch in person. Though the parade culminates at the famous Herald Square, great views can be had on 6th avenue between West 59th to West 38th Streets. Another good spot, albeit with limited public viewing, will be on the south side of West 34th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue. Some areas, like Columbus Circle, will not have public viewing available.
